At the end of November, McDonald’s unveiled its first Happy Meals for adults. For this activation, the world of Friends took over the street furniture: the famous orange sofa covered an entire wall of the bus shelter, like an invitation to “sit with the gang”, while the purple door from Monica’s flat was restored to its iconic place, golden peephole included. By playing with these instantly recognisable elements, the campaign created a real “wow” effect, both for fans of the TV show and for passers-by.

By turning a high-traffic bus shelter into an extension of Central Perk, JCDecaux Latvia and McDonald’s showed that a bus stop can become a place of entertainment, emotion and engagement. Waiting for the bus was transformed into a nostalgic wink to the cult sitcom, while also sparking curiosity about McDonald’s new offer for adults.
