Recent studies carried by JCDecaux at Group level regarding the global air travelers shopping behaviors revealed that Chinese people are great spenders when they travel. For them shopping while travelling is an important part of the trip. They also have an incredibly high awareness of advertising which brings great opportunities for brands to communicate at the point-of-sale and makes Airport advertising quite effective at reaching this high-spending valuable audience. According to JCDecaux’s 2013 Global Shopper study, the Chinese audience is a regular consumer of luxury cosmetics and fragrances while they are traveling, which has led the company to develop creative and effective advertising solutions to target this premium audience, on the right location at the right time. Shanghai Airports. Since the beginning of 2013 SAMDecaux has been expanding its Premium Digital Collection in Shanghai Airports. The first installation is a Giant suspended LED screen of 37m² at Shanghai Pudong International Airport, Terminal 2. Located at the center point of the domestic boarding hall, the Pudong T2 screen delivers maximum impact on captive passengers all the way down to the security check escalators at the retail area.Digital Suspended screen Pudong Airport T2, Shanghai
The second installation is a highly innovative Digital Branding Wall of 7,5m² LED screen, combined with a 70 inch digital logo, which gives clients the opportunity to frequently update their videos and guarantee a strong branding effect. The digital displays ensure to catch all arriving passengers’ attention as they make their way out of the airport. The display was designed by SAMDecaux's Marketing Department who was involved at the early stage of the new retail development planning of the area and Shanghai Airport. The media location itself, within the arrival’s corridor, makes it eye-catching from far away and offers a very long visibility (more than 50 meters) before the passengers reach it.Digital Branding Wall, Hongquiao T2 Airport, Shanghai
