JCDecaux has been selected as Baku's long term street furniture partner. For the first time JCDecaux has installed a network of columns with integrated phone and internet.
The introduction of such functional street furniture comes just in time for Eurovision which started on Tuesday 22nd of May. Thus far, internet-enabled panels have primarily been temporary and were specially made for such campaigns as  Nivea (Beiersdorf)  or Fosters (see below). These types of Innovate campaigns have focused mainly on connection to social media networks like Facebook or Twitter but have not offered full access to the net.
Fosters fans could take a photo at a bus shelter and upload it to Facebook
We think these new columns are double whammy! - This is an extremely useful service to pedestrians and in addition, the resulting traffic around the column is extra attention for the advertiser. No doubt visitors can make full use of these features to share their experience during one of the world's biggest music contests. JCDecaux is also supporting the contest with Eurovision poster campaigns across the best networks in Europe's 26 cities including Paris, London and Berlin.

Furthermore, this can also be seen as a brand new link between Europe and the Caucasus region.  Azerbaijan is one of the fastest growing economies in the world and advertisers shall surely make the most of this new channel to establish a stronger connection with their consumers in the Caucasus. ...Meanwhile, get comfortable to watch Eurovision!
