In 1964, Jean-Claude Decaux invented the concept of “street furniture”, a solution combining public service with advertising efficiency. Lyons was the first city of more than 100,000 inhabitants to be equipped with bus shelters, free of charge. Today, with 100,000 bus shelters installed in 31 different countries, the concept has embraced the entire planet.
